The announcement came via the organization’s Twitter profile as preparations are ongoing for the start of 2022 Dota Pro Circuit Tour 3.

“Today we bid farewell to #GambitDota2. The team will continue competing together under One Move tag. Together with us they earned two second place finishes at #D2CL and qualified for the first division of #DPCEEU. Thank you and good luck in future endeavors!”

Earlier in the month, AS Monaco Gambit parted ways with their Dota 2 roster. On this occasion, they were automatically released into free agency as there was no room for operating under a new umbrella.

“Today we bid farewell to #ASMGMB #GambitDota2. Teams players and coach enter free agency. We would like to thank them for representing our organization and wish them luck in future endeavors,” Gambit said on Twitter at the time.

“Former ASM.GMB Dota 2 line-up: alberkaaa, Lorenof, meLes, Immersion, HappyDyurara, Chappie.”

While Gambit have released the roster led by Vasilii “AfterLife” Shishkin, they will remain competitive but under a new tag – One Move.

The entire former Gambit team was brought together in November 2021, and through a first-place finish in the Eastern Europe Tour 2 Division II, they have secured a Division I spot for the upcoming tour.

One Move had an incredible run in the Division II playoffs. Throughout the competition, they lost only one map to Rune Eaters in the upper-bracket quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, they swept Cybercats in the best-of-three series and finished the event with a 2-0 sweep against HYDRA in the upper-bracket final.

Rune, who lost to Gambit in the upper-bracket quarterfinals, went on a tear after getting relegated to the lower bracket. They swept every team they faced – including Wayfarers, Team Empire, Cybercats, and HYDRA – to also seal a Division I berth.

AfterLife thanked Gambit for putting the team together and expressed their commitment to continue the good work despite being under a different banner.

“A new stage in the history of the team begins. Our sincere thanks for the support from Gambit Esports, who believed in our team all along and made the team happen,” he said.

“We have done a lot of work since last October and we dont plan to quit halfway through. All of the players and coaching staff will continue to work together. A pool of team partners is being formed now, which we will announce as soon as everything is ready.”

The date for the commencement of the final DPC tour is yet to be announced. However, there is a chance they will start in June for teams to have enough time to compete before the start of the PGL Arlington Major scheduled to begin on August 4.

If One Move miraculously pulls off a top-three finish to feature in the Arlington Major and eventually wins the Major, they will have at least 820 DPC points.

Although they are currently ranked 38th with zero points, a first-place finish in the remaining two events could guarantee them a top-twelve finish in the global rankings. With that, they could participate in The International 2022.

The LAN event will be held in Singapore in October, with an initial prize pool of US$1.6 million. In the 2021 edition, the final total prize pool was over $40 million and Team Spirit, the winners, walked away with $18.2 million.

Despite leaving the Dota 2 scene, Gambit still have active rosters in Apex Legends and Valorant. Since the start of April, they have also parted ways with their Fortnite and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive rosters.
