Patrik “?f0rest?” Lindberg will reportedly stand in for Rasmus ?kreaz? Johansson in ex-Finests lineup for the Svenska Cupen 2022. The LAN event, which will run from October 14 through to October 16 in the Space Arena, Stockholm, Sweden, boasts a $46,900 prize pool.

The famous Swedish player made the announcement in a recent stream, revealing his temporary return to competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. He explained that he wanted to help the team during the LAN tournament and described the partnership as a win-win situation.

Ill be helping I believe it is Team Finest, f0rest said.

Theyre lacking one player, and I’m going to help them out in this tournament [Svenska Cupen 2022]. I dont mind, though, its LAN, and I get to play a little bit. Its a win-win [situation].

F0rests time as ex-Finests substitute will see the player reunite with fellow Swedish gamer Simon “?twist?” Eliasson, whom he played with on Ninjas in Pyjamas roster.

Other players in the franchise’s lineup include Kristjan “?shokz?” Jakobson, Olek “?hades?” Miskiewicz, Niclas “?PlesseN?” Plessen, and the team coach, J?drzej “?Bogdan?” Rokita.

Kreaz notably stopped playing with ex-Finests team when Finest put a hold on their esports operations at the start of October. The lineup lost the backing of the Israeli organization when they put an end to esports-related activities after a number of essential investors left the business.

F0rest is currently a free agent as he is without a team for the first time in his two-decades-long career as a pro gamer. The player was previously a member of Ninjas in Pyjamas as well as Dignitas. However, he parted ways with the latter in June this year.

After Dignitas released their roster, f0rest was left without a team, but he has not remained inactive. The CS:GO legend temporarily joined Fnatic during the Pinnacle Cup Championship in June, and with his help, the European team were able to secure a narrow victory against Heroic in the tournaments group stages.

F0rest also returned to his former team, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and played with his previous teammates, Adam Friberg and Christopher GeT_RiGhT Alesund. At the time, the team were playing to qualify for the Europe Regional Major Ranking (RMR) of the 2022 IEM Rio Major.

In September, the Swedish player played for NEOs squad during the Kinguin Legends 2022 tournament. The team were able to finish in third place alongside several famous veteran players, such as Adam “?friberg?” Friberg and Olof “?olofmeister?” Kajbjer.

In addition to streaming regularly on Twitch, f0rest has also continued playing in PUBGs to keep up.

The Svenska Cupen 2022 will feature six Swedish teams, of which two franchises qualified during the Cup’s online component. The rest of the competitors were sent invites to participate directly in the events playoffs.

Ex-Finest will start the tournament in the playoffs’ second round, while EYEBALLERS will begin participating in the Svenska Cupen 2022s quarter-finals. The Ninjas in Pyjamas are perhaps one of the more popular teams in the event and will start their run in the tournament in the semifinals.

PROSPECTS, Kappa Bar, and Lilmix will start the tournament in the knockout stages first round. PROSPECTS and Kappa Bar made it into the event via its online category. The LAN finals will reportedly feature a single-elimination format as well as best-of-three matches across the board. The event will also have a third-place decider.

Fnatic has announced that Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg will be joining their ranks as a stand-in ahead of the 2022 Pinnacle Cup.

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament is scheduled to commence on June 8 and run through to June 11.

With the event drawing closer, Fnatic were the only team without a complete roster and had to act fast. Fortunately, the CSGO esports oufit successfully acquired the service veteran.

The British team made the announcement via their official Twitter page. They also thanked his current team Dignitas for making it happen.

More: Pinnacle Cup tips for June 8

“We’re beyond excited to welcome back f0rest to the Black & Orange as a stand-in for our upcoming appearance at the PinnacleCup! Patrik last served under Fnatic from 2006-2010, helping us cement our historic legacy in 1.6.”

“We’d like to thank Dignitas for allowing this loan to happen, and we can’t wait to see Patrik back in action tomorrow. We’ll update you regarding our plan to lock in a permanent fifth in the coming weeks, and thank you for your support & patience as we navigate these changes.”

Although he currently plays for Dignitas, he has been inactive for a month, which was one of the reasons the loan deal pulled through. In May, Dignitas put their entire roster on the inactive list, stating that all players are available for transfer.

While having f0rest on the roster will be a big boost, he was not in the original plan. The team was currently testing players for the last slot on the roster but their first-choice fell ill at boot camp, hence f0rest’s acquisition.

That revelation was brought to light by the team’s co-owner Patrik cArn S?ttermon. He stated that their search for a permanent fit is not completed.

“We’ve had a few busy days following the player we’ve been trialing falling ill at boot camp, and as a consequence not being able to compete. Standin for Pinnacle has been found, I’m sure it will excite some people out there. Work to finalize a permanent fifth continues.”

Fnatic has had a slow start to the year and will be grateful for a do-over if given the opportunity. Their need for a player stems from the fact that they are undergoing a roster revamp.

The team failed to qualify for the Antwerp Major and did not make it out of the close qualifier for the 2022 Intel Extreme Master Dallas. These poor performances prompted the organization to consider making changes to the roster.

A few days ago, Fnatic acquired Fredrik “roeJ” J?rgensen and Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjid from Copenhagen Flames. Fnatic will be hopeful that their new-look team will have better results in tournaments.

Although F0rest will get the thrill of participating in a cup series once again, his future is uncertain. Four other players on the Dignitas roster, along with F0rest will be hoping for a strong Pinnacle Cup to claim a permanent roster position.

Perhaps a stellar display from f0rest, one of the best players in CS: GO history, will sway Fnatic to offer him a proper contract.

In his earlier days, f0rest spent four years with Fnatic (2006-2010), helping them win several events. A reunion might be in the cards, but first, he has to help them win the lion’s share of the $250,000 Pinnacle Cup prize fund.

Fnatic will open the Pinnacle Cup tournament with a best-of-1 match against Heroic. Subsequent fixtures will follow a best-of-3 format.

Fnatic is paying $13.00 to win the Pinnacle Cup with esports betting sites, which looks decent value, given they are a great unknown with their new line-up.

Team Dignitas have officially returned to the male CS:GO esports scene with the signing of the original Ninjas in Pyjamas roster, which will be joined by young Norwegian AWPer H?kon “hallzerk” Fj?rli as the fifth and final member of the team.

The announced was made on Tuesday with a short video that confirmed the legendary four-man core of Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, Richard “Xizt” Landstr?m and Adam “friberg” Friberg, who played together for five years at NiP.

GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, Xizt, friberg and Robin “Fifflaren” Johansson are known for their dominance in the early days of CS:GO. They earned a spot in the CS:GO hall of fame with their renowned 87-0 LAN map win streak in 2012-2013, which is to date one of the most impressive achievements in esports history. In August 2014, the quintet won ESL One Cologne 2014, which was NiP’s first and, to date, only Major title.

Joining them will be a 19-year-old AWPer hallzerk, who has previously played for Nordavind and is now ready to set foot in the top tier of the CS:GO competitive scene. While an unproven talent at the highest level, the young Norwegian has made a name for himself by helping his side qualify for ESEA MDL Europe Season 33.

According to GeT_RiGhT, the decision to join Dignitas was an easy one to make.

“When this offer fell into my lap, I felt this was the best choice for my future of everything I had on the table. Mostly, because I didn’t want to end my career already and that burning desire came into my core that I haven’t felt for some time,” he said.

“Joining an organisation like DIG is like a dream come true – mostly because of the people around it, the team itself and what the goals are for the future. I’m more excited to wake up every day knowing it’ll be a battle, but a battle I will not give up that easily.”

The return follow last year’s announcement from Dignitas CEO Michael Prindiville, who confirmed his organisation was looking to re-enter the male CS:GO scene. DIG have only fielded a female team since mid-2018, when they dropped their American roster of Michael “Grim” Wince, Ronnie “ryx” Bylicki, Peter “ptr” Gurney, Gage “Infinite” Green and Mitch “mitch” Semago.

Dignitas’ re-entry into the CS:GO scene is one of several big moves they have made in recent times. Last year, DIG acquired a League of Legends team and a spot in the LoL Championship Series when they bought out Clutch Gaming.

“The signing of these world class players and DIG’s re-entry into CS:GO marks yet another tentpole moment in the explosive upward trajectory of this esports organization,” said Prindiville.

“In the last seven months DIG has re-entered the top two esports in the world – League of Legends and CS:GO – in stunning fashion, assembling intoxicating teams that define the brand of DIG: championship pedigree, innovative, engaging and gritty. I’m thrilled to welcome GeT_RiGhT, Xizt, friberg, f0rest, Hallzerk and Fifflaren to DIG and look forward to engaging with the fans as we tell the best story in CS:GO.”
