?The world no.1 and top seed at the RLCS World Championship, Moist Esports, will take on an SMPR Esports side that qualified second in the Wildcard Stage. This series will feature two of the top four teams in Europe battling it out.

Moist Esports rose to the top of the rankings after winning the Spring Major back in July. It was the first Major the new team had played in since its inception, with all of the players from the disbanded Team Queso transferring over to Moist. With Axel “Vatira” Touret winning the Spring Major Defensive MVP and Joe “Joyo” Young winning the Spring Major Overall MVP, it is easy to see why Moist are favourites to take out the RLCS World Championship.

SMPR Esports have won all four of their series so far, qualifying in second place through the Wildcard Stage. They dropped only three of 15 games in beating Team Secret, Pioneers and Spacestation Gaming to set up a quarterfinal clash with Endpoint CeX, where they triumphed 4-3. As a result, SMPR are now the no.4-ranked team in Europe. Even so, they have been quite underwhelming over the past year, with their best performance at a worldwide event being their 3rd-4th finish at the RLCS 2021-22 Fall Split Major last December.

Moist Esports will be very, very short in this series, but we cannot see them losing. However, given these two teams played a combined 13 games in the quarters, the better play is over 5.5 maps at $1.90 with GG Bet.

TEAM BDS vs VERSION1 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: BDS $1.61 at GG Bet | V1 $2.00 at GG Bet
When: August 11, 2022 | 12:00 CDT

The second series of the day is sure to produce some fireworks with the amount of flare and talent on both sides. Both teams sit in the top four of their respective regional rankings, with Team BDS at no.2 in Europe and Version1 at no.4 in North America.

Team BDS have already improved on their Spring Major performance after they won their first series 4-1 against Renegades. In London, they were knocked out in back-to-back series without even winning a game, losing 0-3 to both Team Secret and Pioneers. However, one thing BDS always have in their favour is Evan “M0nkey M00n” Rogez, who is considered by many as one of the best players in the world. If M0nkey M00n can have a much better RLCS World Championship than his Spring Major, Team BDS will have a much better chance of going deep.

Version1 will be looking to go one step further in the RLCS World Championship after their third-place finish at the Spring Major, just missing out on the grand final twice. Version1 lost 3-4 to Team Falcons in the upper-bracket final and then lost 0-4 to Moist Esports in the lower-bracket final, missing both chances to make the decider. Version1 had to go through the Wildcard Stage to make the Group Stage and finished in third-place only dropping one series to Spacestation Gaming. Version1 have shown they can perform in the biggest events, and the RLCS World Championship is the biggest event on the Rocket League calendar, so don’t underestimate them.

Version1 and Team BDS will be a cracking series. Either team could dominate the other, so it could be a short match, but it is sure to be exciting anyway. We will be siding with the slight outsiders in the head-to-head market, Version1.
