AFREECA FREECS vs T1 LCK SUMMER BETTING PREVIEW
Afreeca Freecs will look to keep their perfect record alive this Friday when they meet with T1 during the second week of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Summer Split.
Afreeca Freecs have won two from two to sit atop the LCK leaderboard alongside DAMWON Gaming and DragonX. They kicked things off with a 2-0 win over SANDBOX Gaming and a followed up with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over league newcomers Team Dynamics, who won the opening match of that series.
Although Afreeca Freecs still have a lot more to prove, we cannot ignore how well Jin “Mystic” Seong-jun has been playing. The 25-year-old ADC is averaging the second-highest KDA (20.3) in the league and has solidified himself as the main carry of his team. Despite receiving only 26.5% of the gold share, Mystic deals 38.7% of his team’s damage on average and holds an impressive 76.1% KPAR, which is the second-highest kill participation percentage out of all ADC mains in the LCK.
Having said that, top laner Kim “Kiin” Gi-in, jungler Lee “Spirit” Da-yoon and mid laner Song “Fly” Yong-jun all deserve some praise as well. While they don’t boast such impressive figures as Mystic, all three are ranked among the best-performing players in their respective roles. How much their high marks mean will become clear when Afreeca Freecs take on the reigning LCK champions this week.

T1 had a slow start of their LCK 2020 Summer campaign, suffering a 1-2 defeat to DragonX in their opening game. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and his crew also struggled in parts against Hanwha Life, but they did enough to secure a 2-1 victory.
Although that form is not exactly something to write home about, it’s worth noting that T1 decided to try out their substitute support, Choi “Kuri” Won-yeong, for the first two games against Hanwha. Kuri failed to show up on that day and finished with a disappointing 0/7/9 record and 1.3 KDA. His poor showing saw Lee “Effort” Sang-ho switched in for the final game of the series, which proved a solid move.
Unlike Afreeca Freecs, who rely on Mystic to do most of the work, T1 have three players who do their fair share. Top laner Kim “Canna” Chang-dong is averaging 7.0 KDA and 25.4% damage share, mid laner Faker is averaging 4.9 KDA and 24.4% damage share, and ADC Park “Teddy” Jin-seong is averaging 5.1 KDA and 27.9% damage share.
It’s also worth noting that although Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan’s 3.8 KDA and 14.3% damage share are hardly eye-catching, he has played a pivotal role in his team’s success with his deep champion pool and map pressure.
AFREECA FREECS vs T1 LCK SUMMER BETTING PREDICTIONS
Stats-wise, there is not a lot to set these teams apart. T1 tend to have much better vision control and farming strategy, while Afreeca Freecs have a more aggressive playstyle and slightly better objective control.
Afreeca Freecs enter this match in better form, but they have yet to face a high-calibre team this split. T1, on the other, have already tested their mettle against DragonX – one of the strongest teams in the division.
T1 should win this one, but there is reason to believe Mystic will cause them some issues. There is definitely value in backing Afreeca Freecs to win a map and cover their +1.5 handicap.
